An aircraft observation of Typhoon Trami (2018) was decided. The aircraft observation of Typhoon Trami will start on September 25.
The schedule is tentative and it is rescheduled accordingly. You have to check this page if necessary.

  1. September 23 (Monday):
    Final decision was made. The aircraft observation of Typhoon Trami will start on September 25.


  2. September 25 (Tuesday):
    Flight from Nagoya (Komaki) to Clark, Philippines.
    A test of dropsonde will be made around Minami-Daito Island, Okinawa.
    Typhoon observation will be made in the north and west regions of Typhoon Trami around 06 UTC September 25.


  3. September 26 (Wednesday):
    Flight Clark, Philippines to Naha or Kagoshima, Japan.
    Typhoon observation will be made in the south and east regions of Typhoon Trami.


  4. September 27 (Thursday) or 28 (Friday) depending on the position of typhoon:
    Flight from and to Naha or Kagoshima, Japan.
    Typhoon observation will be made in the surrounding region of Typhoon Trami.


  5. September 28 (Friday) or 29 (Saturday) depending on the position of typhoon:
    Flight from Naha or Kagoshima, Japan to Nagoya (Komaki), Japan.
    Typhoon observation will be made in the northern region of Typhoon Trami. Then, we return to Nagoya.
